Each individual scientist contributes new knowledge on only a very tiny aspect of the universe in which we exist. From this perspective the research process can appear like a rather esoteric activity, but when the results of many thousands of researchers are combined our view of the world takes form. Our research deals with the meteorite flux to Earth in deep time, however, in the popular science format this research can be placed in a larger astrogeobiological context. In May 2025 the book ”Dinosauriernas död, meteoriterna och livets väg” will be released by the publisher Fri Tanke. The book tells how the discovery of the fossil meteorites at Kinnekulle is closely related to the research on the extinction of the dinosaurs through an asteroid impact at Chicxulub in Mexico. From a cross disciplinary and philosophical perspective, the book tells about the impact event and how life would have evolved if the Chicxulub body had missed the Earth and (non-flying) dinosaurs would still exist. The book also tells how the history of life on Earth gives clues about how life may have evolved on billions of other planets that exist in the habitable zone around stars in our universe. Once the book is published a list of some of the scientific articles on which it is based will be given here.
